I am happy with the proposed park, especially the permanently boarded rink, tennis court and Bench fit. I do not want to see a dog park for this space.
In addition to the list, I would like to have:
1. An enclosed dog park area.
2. In the junior play equipment area, can we add a splash pad? Kids love splash pads.
3. At the millenium park, there is a pirate structure. Our grandchildren love it! Maybe our park can have a "mill stone" play structure which would be unique to CCV. Kids would know our park as the "cool mill stone". Maybe this could be combined with # 2 above. A splash pad mill stone theme.
As an aside, could we please have solar lights in the current park (in front of the sales center).
"These are all great ideas for our community, especially the full size soccer field and tennis pickeball courts which would be useful additions to the area.
Also, an enclosed dog run would be welcomed in the community."
"A dog park. There are many dogs in the community and no designated area for owners to let their dogs play and run"
"I have reviewed the proposed amenities for the Community Park and I favour the following features.
1. a community rink/multi use facility along with a bunker for storing equipment..i.e. hose for winter flooding etc. Some lighting for winter rink usage during shorter winter daylight periods. Some water features etc for summer time
2. Full size field for soccer/football.
3. Parking lot for at least 50 parking spots
4. Shelter for convening social functions along with some picnic tables
5. Making use of natural land slope for a natural amphitheatre for community presentations.
6. Preserve the existing heritage building for a community center.
7. Walkways that meander around park area including waste containers.
8. Maintain as much mature trees as possible"
"I love the ideas proposed for the community park especially:
- preserve existing mature trees (yes!)
- shade shelter
- seating and picnic areas
- integrated skateboard elements
- naturalized areas an amphitheater
- multi-use court with basketball nets (lit facility)
What I would love would be a calisthenics structure for adult fitness. Pineview park in Orleans has this and I've seen these a lot in the states. OR within the play structure include straight bars that can be used for this (ex: pull ups)."

"The bench fit would be cool, parents can workout while kids play in the park. The skateboard would be original, cool and different for the kids. Also a park for young but also older children. The park we have now is perfect for toddlers but a park for bigger kids would be superb also. Basketball nets would be a bonus also. All of this done while preserving mature trees and keeping the areas as nature friendly as can be"
"Feedack:
- nature playground elements (logs, rocks)
- interactive water feature (pumps, weirs, channels for kids to alter flow)
- community beehive
- skating loop (flood in the winter, leave for rollerblading, etc., in the summer)
- shade and shaded play areas (I.e. canopies over play structures)
- dog waste station
- recycling/compost options
- community orchard (edible)/garden component"
"I would like to add splash-pad to this list and some form of washroom (it’s hard to get the kids home in tome if they have to go)."
"Tennis courts - yes, please please! None nearby... Will double be enough? We often find the courts that are driving distance around are full. Maybe 3 courts instead? Permanent boarded rink would be great too! How about a larger splash pad? The other local one is quite small"
"Amenities for park.. I agree with proposed ideas...really support the amphitheatre (opportunities for music in the park concerts and Shakespeare in the park..children's theatre and more)"
